Because of these images I began my conscious journey into street photography.
I was sitting in front of the cathedral in Lisbon when the young Dutch woman separated from her group, sat down on the steps in front of the cathedral and took out her sketchbook. She sat there calmly for five minutes, sketching the cathedral and then returned to her group.
I found her aura so impressive that I simply had to photograph the scene. Unfortunately, it’s definitely not one of my best photos, but the story behind it makes it still one of my favorites.
